St Matthew's Episcopal Church of Pampa TX
Rev. Mark Lang
Rector

Born and raised in Pampa, Texas as a cradle Episcopalian,

Mark made his home here in 1976 after serving in the United States Army.   Mark married the love of his life Karen in June of 1976 and both raised two wonderful children, William Wesley & Courtney Marie.

During a long career with Cabot Corporation, Mark became interested in expanding his service to God and his parish family and began discerning the possibility of becoming a bi-vocational priest.

After completing the requirements for ordination outlined during a transitional period in the Diocese of Northwest Texas, Fr. Mark was ordained into the priesthood by the Rt. Reverend Scott Mayer at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church on December 17, 2013.   He served as a supply priest to both St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa and St. Michael's All Angels in Shamrock, Texas from early 2014 through January 2015.

Fr. Mark retired from his position as Quality Manager after thirty two years with Cabot Corporation's Pampa Plant and their Manufacturing, Research, and Development Center on January 30, 2015.   After one day in retirement spent writing a homily, Fr. Mark became the Rector at St. Matthew's Episcopal February 1, 2015.

Fr. Mark is continuing his priestly development through the Iona Initiative sponsored by the Diocese of Northwest Texas School of Ordained ministry hoping to complete his studies in the Spring of 2018.
